Wedding season is upon us and we are getting many calls about printing wedding invites, programs, and the like. We are getting many of the same questions and we wanted to give you some tips when it comes time for printing wedding materials.
- Etsy and Pinterest are great places for inspiration. However, we have worked with many Etsy designs and found that they are pretty on screen, but not realistic on paper. Many of the files come with errors and mistakes that make the file not ready for print. We suggest using the design as inspiration and letting us or a professional designer make a print ready document.
- Paper type is usually unique for wedding materials. We can get almost any stock you can think of. We’ve used a brown recycled stock to give that rustic look that many are looking for. We also have pearlized stocks that give a real shine and are very unique. These different stock options can make your invites or programs really stand out.
- Envelopes come in a variety of sizes, but paper can be cut to any size. We suggest finding a size of envelope you’d like to use and have the invites and RSVPs fit that size.
- Store bought invites and envelopes are often meant to print from your home printer. They’re difficult to work with in a professional environment. Usually, you’re better off getting the stock and printing straight from the print shop. Again, they’re great for inspiration, but they can be a lot of work for you or the print shop.
We hope these 4 quick tips help you when you’re looking at printing wedding invites. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us or stop in.
